by the name itself, the show is about metal – DEATH METAL MUSIC… well, not really. it’s actually a story of the struggle of a guy (negishi) who’s into pop music (swedish in particular) and hopes to become a popstar in tokyo someday, only to find out that resorting to heavy death metal music would be the way for him to express his feelings towards everything – family, society, morality, and even the most abstract thing we call “love.”

of course in the beginning, he despises this rockstar lifestyle – saying that he does it out of desperation. but as the series progresses, he is confronted by the harsh realities of life – people, acting nice or otherwise, has tendencies of being judgmental. one major conflict in the whole motherplot is how the protagonist handles two opposite personalities – negishi and krauser. he is caught into a see-saw switching act whenever somebody judges him for being the normal negishi (the nerd/dork type) or the brutal krauser. it’s just basic conformity – to belong in a group and be recognized by peers.

to sum it all up, IT’S FUN, DEADF*CK and real FUN. I give it a 4/5. =) GO F*CKIN’ WATCH IT!!!

respect: THIAGO ALVES has nothing but the utmost respect for the UFC Welterweight champion GEORGE RUSH ST. PIERRE after a 5-round unanimous decision bout inside The Octagon. both practitioners of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, GSP proved to be the better artist as appeared on  the score cards (60-54, 60-55). yes, unanimous decision was handed down by the judges but GSP ruled over Alves by taking him down 9 times all throughout the fight. that is really hard to do when you’re talking about endurance. what i mean is that GSP really did consistently on all 5 rounds while Alves got tired as the fight progressed. you can say it’s not one of the best fights that GSP pulled out of his sleeves but has definitely solidified his position as the top-gamer (well, at least in his weight division). people, like Alves, only has the utmost respect for the French-Canadian warrior.

redemption: okay… ’nuff said folks, BROCK LESNAR is the pure heavyweight power. FRANK MIR was devasted by lesnar’s non-stop ground-and-pound brawling style that he has been using ever since he started mma. and come on, 265 lbs. against 245(?)? this is the battle of harder knocks. obviously, brock managed to blow mir with the heavier punches (hammerfists). mir was drenched with blood ever since round 1 and from then on, the fight had been decided already by fate.

anyway, UFC 100 was quite short and we even spent more time on drinking the cases of beers than watching. fuckin’ un-rad. hahaha.

FUCK! no x-rated scenes holy mother——!! but guess what, one of us ended up in tears. GOD, that was really good. I must admit – it was one real ride. It wasn’t the artsy-fartsy type of film (yuh, so don’t even expect). i learned a lot of stuff from it:

1. japanese think that encoffinment is gross;

2. japanese invest a lot in the encoffinment industry (hehe);

3. japanese hate being abandoned or be left behind (who doesn’t?) and;

4. ryoko hirosue can be pretty hot even not in nude…

so yeah, there you go! we had our expectations… and this film exceeded them. watch them too! try using BitLord client so that you can still stream while downloading.

our menu for today: the guy who gets the hardest fall nowadays. this is for all guys out there, especially the ones who are trying to build a relationship (or at least, hook up) with a really hot girl… okay, maybe not that hot – like HB 7 or 8? nah, seriously, if you are about to “plunge forth into the deep” try this. I know you’ve heard of the term ‘hopeless romantic’ and here’s my opinion – romantic; hopeless nonetheless.

filipinos are innately romantic guys (fools, technically). From the panliligaw (courtship in tagalog) stage, to the panghaharana (the formal act of courting a girl via sending her mixtapes of her favorite RnB hits), and finally to the pamamanhikan (where the fool asks the lady to marry/reject him) – the tradition of the Filipinos promises a whole lot of good stuff for girls, AND FOR GIRLS ONLY. Dong, maniwala ka iba na ang kababaihan ngayon (Dude, trust me – girls have changed).

many filipinas around the Metro (Manila, Makati, Pasay, Quezon City, Marikina, etc.) are liberated (oh yeah, just like in western contemporary comedy movies) and adventurous. a part of this adventurous life is indulging to all kinds of vices; smoking, drinking, passing the dubie and of course, S-E-X. Come on, this has been going on for years (or even decades on western countries) now. Let’s face it, bro: the times are changing and we need to have a new strategy for the modern Filipina.

So what is this ‘new strategy’?

I call this the ‘alpha male’ project. it’s actually a compilation of the lessons that i have learned regarding social or women interaction. the project’s target today: THE HOPELESS ROMANTICS.

are you the type of guy who really falls easy to an attractive woman? not me; i only get ATTRACTED. okay okay, sorry. i must have been too conceited. let’s start over… are you the type who is uber-ly dedicated to woman after knowing you’re attracted to her?

i have a friend (mentioned above) who has this kind of condition. during our first year in college, he has always been the ‘nice guy’ type trying to be the ladies’ man. He is a wordsmith – he writes poetry like an ordinary text message. He also almost automatically helps the ‘damsel in distress’ (or even not in distress!). But here’s the thing: he is way too ‘good’ that he gets abused by the girl. maybe because he ‘loves’ her so much (btw, he just met her earlier this morning :p). Don’t get me wrong; i don’t hate girls. It’s just that he’s almost like an ASS-KISSER. i mean, if you’re a broke chick, just hang around with him and you’ll never have a problem; he’ll pay for your food, the shirt you always wanted to have and all the booze and weed in this world. what’s worst is that he would feel bad after you rejected him because he has invested a lot for you… THAT’S AUTOMATIC. i mean, the guy would really feel bad after all the time (and money) spent. this is actually the problem of guys who easily fall in love. I was like this a long, long time ago.

So what’s the solution of a real alpha male?

first, create a different kind of persona. be the hard-to-get type. females actually dominate facebook, myspace and friendster. the technique: BE STEALTH. don’t open up an account on these networking sites so that you could be a mystery for them. if you’re going to create one, be sure that it’s only for researching purposes (you know what i mean). LET THEM FIND YOU. mas mahirap hagilapin, mas gwapo.

second, when you are with the girl you are attracted to, whether with a group of friends or otherwise, don’t act really excited. CONTROL. don’t ask her questions that would imply your great interest to her. just be plain and simple. be humorous (fuck yeah, sometimes green joke can be applied!). always listen to her and don’t give her the “ahw honey, everything will be fine” crap because she has heard it enough from her girlfriends. try to have a different opinion like “geez, that’s uncool. let’s go fuckin’ buy some booze.” be a good listener – always make her do the talking and only talk about yourself if deemed necessary. this would keep the mysterious aura, hehe. If you’re going to ask questions, don’t ask personal ones. try to be spontaneous: ask her about the fuckin’ stoner movie you watched last night. i bet she watched several more type of that. just be funny; don’t be horny.

lastly, don’t fucking spend money on her YET. actually, if she insists on paying your beer or food, let her be. you can only be the hopeless romantic type/ass-kisser/knight-in-shining-armor type sometimes, only when deemed necessary (like when she’s kidnapped).

i think these three things got me to where i am now. hahaha.

now seriously, i think the best way to interact with the opposite sex is to hide your sexual intentions to them. be adventurous. be robin hood and not king arthur.

more seriously, you have to train yourself really hard not to fall too easy. go see a priest to control your libido.

MOST SERIOUSLY, love and respect your woman. if you know she wants something from you, give it to her SUBTLY. don’t overemphasize. just act like it’s normal for a guy like you.
